Air Dryer Filters: Bendix AD-IS, Meritor WABCO Cross-Reference

Pulls moisture out of compressed air before it freezes a brake valve.

A Class 8 air brake system runs at about 120 PSI. The compressor draws ambient air, including whatever water vapor that air is carrying, and pushes it into the supply tanks at pressure. On a humid day in summer, an over-the-road truck can drop a cup of water out of the system in a few hundred miles. The air dryer cartridge is what catches that water before it reaches the valves, the brake chambers, and the suspension. Skip a service interval, and the same water that was supposed to fall into the cartridge ends up frozen in a brake valve at three in the morning in Wyoming.

Steinberg stocks 3 air dryer filter SKUs covering the cartridge formats found on most Class 8 trucks: Bendix AD-IS, AD-SP, and Meritor WABCO SS-1000 and SS-1200. Fits Volvo D13/D16 and Freightliner Cascadia along with the multi-make Bendix and Meritor configurations. Each is cross-referenced to the OEM part number and ships same-day from Hodgkins, IL. NET-30 terms for qualified fleet accounts. For engine intake and cabin air filtration, see our Heavy-Duty Air Filters and Cabin Air Filters collections.
