Customer Support

Customer FAQ.

Shipping, payments, fleet accounts, cross-reference policy, and fitment. Everything fleet operators ask before placing an order with Steinberg.

Shipping & Delivery

What is Steinberg's same-day shipping cutoff?

Orders placed on steinbergus.com before 2 PM Central Time ship the same business day from our Hodgkins, Illinois warehouse. Orders placed after 2 PM CT, on weekends, or on US federal holidays ship the next business day. Ground delivery times depend on destination; freight LTL shipments require a quote.

Which carriers do you use to ship orders?

Steinberg ships via UPS Ground and FedEx Ground for standard parcel orders, with carrier selection based on destination ZIP and order weight. For high-volume fleet orders that exceed parcel weight limits, we coordinate freight LTL through carriers contracted by the fleet account or by Steinberg's logistics team.

Do you ship to all 50 states?

Yes, Steinberg ships from our Hodgkins, Illinois warehouse to all 50 US states. Standard ground delivery typically takes 2 to 5 business days depending on destination, with most Midwest and Eastern US orders arriving in 2 to 3 days. We do not currently ship internationally.

Do you offer freight LTL for high-volume orders?

Yes, Steinberg offers freight LTL shipping for fleet orders that exceed standard parcel limits (typically over 150 pounds or oversized cartons). Fleet accounts can specify a preferred carrier on their account, or Steinberg arranges shipment through our contracted LTL partners. Contact sales@steinbergus.com for an LTL quote on large orders.

Payments & Accounts

Do you offer NET-30 payment terms for fleet accounts?

Yes, Steinberg extends NET-30 payment terms to qualified fleet accounts after credit approval. NET-30 means invoices are due 30 days from the invoice date, with no early-payment discount or late-payment penalty during the standard term. Fleet account credit applications are reviewed within 24 to 48 business hours.

How do I set up a fleet account with Steinberg?

To open a fleet account, contact sales@steinbergus.com with your company name, primary contact, fleet size, the engine families you operate, and your standard payment preference. We send a short credit application and references form; approval typically completes within 24 to 48 business hours. Approved fleet accounts unlock NET-30 terms and dedicated account support.

What payment methods do you accept?

Steinberg accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards through our secure online checkout. Approved fleet accounts can pay by company check or ACH transfer against NET-30 invoices. We do not currently accept PayPal, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers outside of fleet account arrangements.

Cross-Reference & Compatibility

Do you cross-reference Fleetguard, Donaldson, Baldwin, and WIX part numbers?

Yes, Steinberg cross-references major aftermarket and OEM filter part numbers including Fleetguard FF/FS/LF series, Donaldson P/AF series, Baldwin BF series, WIX 33-series, and Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and PACCAR OEM filter part numbers. If you have a specific competitor part number you need to source, email sales@steinbergus.com for a cross-reference lookup. For detailed cross-reference content per brand, see our Knowledge Base.

Are Steinberg filters OEM-grade or generic aftermarket?

Steinberg filters are OEM-grade aftermarket parts, engineered to the same micron rating, dimensions, and material specifications as the OEM parts they cross-reference. We source from certified manufacturers that produce to original equipment specifications, not from generic-grade suppliers that match outer dimensions but skip filter media or build quality.

Will using a Steinberg aftermarket filter void my OEM engine warranty?

No, using an aftermarket filter that meets OEM specifications does not void engine warranties in the US under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which prohibits engine manufacturers from voiding warranties simply because the customer used aftermarket maintenance parts. Steinberg filters meet OEM micron ratings and material specs, keeping warranty coverage intact for routine service.

Fitment

Which heavy-duty diesel engines does Steinberg's catalog cover?

Steinberg's filter catalog covers heavy-duty diesel engines from Cummins (ISX, ISX15, X15, ISB6.7, ISL9), Detroit Diesel (DD13, DD15, DD16, Series 60), Volvo (D11, D12, D13, D16), Mack (MP7, MP8), PACCAR (MX-11, MX-13), and International (A26, MaxxForce). Coverage spans EPA 2010 through current Stage V emissions specifications. Browse engine-specific catalogs on the Collections page.

Do you carry filters for Cummins X15 and ISX15?

Yes, Steinberg carries the full Cummins X15 and ISX15 filter range including primary fuel filters, fuel/water separators, oil filters, engine air filters, and cabin air filters. Cross-references include Fleetguard FF/FS/LF series part numbers used as OEM by Cummins Filtration. Browse the Cummins collection on steinbergus.com.

Do you carry filters for Detroit DD15, Volvo D13, Mack MP8, and PACCAR MX-13?

Yes, Steinberg carries filter coverage for all four major non-Cummins heavy-duty platforms: Detroit Diesel DD13/DD15/DD16, Volvo D11/D13/D16, Mack MP7/MP8, and PACCAR MX-11/MX-13. Each engine has dedicated primary fuel filter, oil filter, and air filter SKUs with cross-references to OEM and major aftermarket part numbers.

Service Intervals

How often should I replace fuel filters on a Class 8 truck?

Most OEM-published service intervals for primary fuel filters are 30,000 to 50,000 miles under normal-duty conditions, with shorter intervals (20,000 to 30,000 miles) under severe-duty or fuel-quality concerns. Always verify against the specific engine maker's service bulletin for your model year. For engine-specific interval guidance, see our technical Knowledge Base.

Does the EPA 2010 vs Stage V emissions standard change my service interval?

Yes, Stage V engines (post-2017 in most US Class 8 platforms) typically have tighter aftertreatment tolerances and slightly shorter fuel filter intervals compared to EPA 2010 engines, particularly for primary fuel filters protecting high-pressure common-rail injectors. Stage V intervals run roughly 25,000 to 35,000 miles vs 30,000 to 50,000 on EPA 2010 engines.
