About This Filter

A loaded Class 8 tractor coming down a five-percent grade carries roughly eight hundred thousand foot-pounds of kinetic energy. The friction surfaces inside its drum brakes turn most of that energy into heat in under a minute. Q-Plus is the FMSI designation for the friction grade engineered for that duty cycle, the one that holds rated coefficient under sustained 800°F drum temperature without fading and without glazing. The PA4707 is the 16.5 by 7 inch shoe assembly built to that grade, the size you see on virtually every air-brake S-Cam axle currently in service on a North American highway tractor or trailer.

Fits

  • 16.5" x 7" S-Cam air brake systems
  • Class 8 tractor steer and drive axles
  • Heavy-duty trailers with S-Cam actuation
  • FMSI designation: 4707 (Q-Plus friction grade)

Cross-Reference

The PA4707 carries the FMSI 4707 reference number, which is the multi-make industry standard for this shoe geometry. If your shop is replacing OEM-equivalent Q-Plus shoes, this is the same part by another stock number.
