What is the Cummins X15 model?

The Cummins X15 is a 14.9-liter inline-six diesel engine designed for Class 8 long-haul trucks. The X15 platform comes in two main calibration families: the X15 Performance (400 to 605 HP, 1,450 to 2,050 lb-ft of torque) for owner-operators and high-torque applications, and the X15 Efficiency (400 to 500 HP) optimized for fuel economy in fleet long-haul service. Both share the same 14.9L block, XPI common-rail injection, dual-overhead-cam architecture, and integrated aftertreatment. The X15 succeeded the ISX15 in 2017 and continues current production through Stage V (2020+). It powers Kenworth T680 and T880, Peterbilt 579, Freightliner Cascadia (when ordered with Cummins), Volvo VNL with Cummins option, and International LT and ProStar configurations. Filter sourcing depends on the calibration variant and model year, both of which appear on the engine nameplate.
